I am a qualified mediator, non-practising barrister and Deputy Mayor of Harpenden.

 

I bring over 25 years of legal and public life experience to every mediation — including ten years as a practising barrister in Cambridge, lecturer, and consultant for the Bar Standards Board. I draft civil litigation and professional ethics questions and have marked thousands of exam papers. I also enjoy sitting on disciplinary panels for England Netball (chair) and the Liberal Democrats (panel).

I founded BF-IC Mediation Services to offer individuals, businesses and organisations in Hertfordshire and beyond, a practical, confidential and cost-effective alternative to court. My approach is calm, authoritative, pragmatic and focused on finding an Intelligent Compromise that works for everyone. I am trained to manage difficult conversations and finding common ground.
